Serious pedestrian crash reported in Annandale

The Fairfax County Police Department reports a serious pedestrian crash in the area of John Marr Drive and Ravensworth Road in Annandale on Feb. 28.
An adult female was crossing the road when she was struck by a vehicle. She was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver remained at the scene.
The city must add lightning its dark view, that area, need to change it
There is only a walk signal to cross on two of the three crosswalks at this intersection- adding another walk signal and better street lights as suggested by another commentator would help. Additionally, people speed through this area all the time, and continue their speed down Ravensworth through the traffic circle (no yielding!) and up in the other direction to Little River. Cops could give out tickets all day around this area for speeding and failure to yield, in addition to what seems to be constant red light running. I appreciate the county attempting to improve pedestrian and bike infrastructure in the area, but Annandale has a loooooooong way to go before more people are safely moving outside of cars in the area. Wishing those involved in this crash speedy recoveries.
yes, they should be attempting to encourage drivers to take braddock road to get around downtown annandale when possible
