Splitting the Atom

Many Annandale residents are concerned about plans to relieve overcrowding at Annandale High School by transferring some students to Lake Braddock Secondary School or Falls Church High School. Initial estimates calling for 275 students to be moved have been adjusted. The current plan calls for just 153 to be moved in fall 2010. Some parents complained that would be inadequate to relieve Annandale’s extreme overcrowding and that the plan fails to account for student participation in academic programs, sports, and extracurricular activities. Annandale offers the International Baccalaureate, while the other two schools do not. For more information, visit the AHS PTSA website.
