Volunteers will assemble 1,700 meals for those in need

The Bailey’s Crossroads Rotary Club, the Bailey’s Crossroads Host Lions Club, and the Arlington Moose Lodge are hosting a community meals packaging event on Saturday, Jan. 6.

Community members are invited to participate, too. Sign up for a shift here.

Volunteers will measure and weigh ingredients and assemble 1,700 meals for distribution to those in need this winter.

The event is at the Moose Lodge at 5710 Scoville Street in Bailey’s Crossroads 11 a.m.-3 p.m. The meal ingredients come from the Outreach Program.

The meals will be sent to students’ homes when schools are closed on snow days and will be distributed to lower-income seniors by community organizations.

The event is a great volunteering opportunity for middle and high school students. Younger children can participate, too, but must be accompanied by an adult.
