Wireless Zone of Annandale at 7301 Little River Turnpike, will be hosting the School Rocks Backpack Giveaway on Sunday, July 30 at 1 p.m.

The store, which focuses on cell phones and Verizon plans, will hand out free backpacks filled with school supplies.

The School Rocks Backpack Giveaway is an annual program of Round Room LLC, the nation’s largest authorized Verizon retailer. Its Wireless Zone and TCC stores will donate 120,000 backpacks to help students prepare for the upcoming school year.

Since the first School Rocks Backpack Giveaway 11 years ago, the program has given out more than 1.3 million backpacks.

Students must be present to receive a backpack. One backpack will be given out per child on a first-come, first-served basis. They will contain pencils, paper, a pencil box, folders, a ruler, and glue.

“The School Rocks Backpack Giveaway is our company’s cornerstone annual event, and I couldn’t be more thankful for our store locations, employees, and customers for helping us continue to do good in the thousands of communities we operate in,” said Round Room CEO Scott Moorehead.

Round Room has 1,248 Wireless Zone and TCC stores across 43 states. Wireless Zone was founded in 1988 as The Car Phone Store.
