Music in the Park: A major event to support Glasgow Park

Next Saturday’s Music in the Park benefit keeps getting bigger. Several new vendors have been added, including Moe’s Southwest Grill, Flippin’ Pizza, an ice cream truck, and smoothies, with more restaurants expected to participate.

The free, family celebration was organized by the Parklawn Community Association to raise money for new playground equipment in Glasgow Park. It will be held in the park, 4050 Fairfax Parkway, June 12, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. The rain date is June 13.

Bands will perform all afternoon. There will be two large moon bounces, face painting by professional artists, and fire trucks. The Sheriff’s office will prepare fingerprinting ID cards for children. Several marketplace vendors will be on hand, including Southern Living at Home and Silpada Jewelry. Everyone is invited,
