New homes on a new cul de sac off Peace Valley Lanein Seven Corners are ready for purchase.

The builder, Evergreen Homes, is hosting a grand opening on July 23, 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

There are two models. Both have five bedrooms, four and a-half bathrooms, a two-car garage, a fireplace embedded in a stone wall, molding on the first-floor walls, kitchens with an island and high-end appliances, and partially finished, carpeted basement levels.

The 2,895-square-foot Paxton model, listed at $962,000, has a front porch and an exterior staircase leading outside from the lower level.

The Taylor is little bigger, 2,960 square feet, and is priced at $982,000. It doesn’t have a front porch but does have a foyer inside the front door. It also has a walk-out basement level with French doors.

According to realtor Ghada Barakat of Long & Foster, it’s unusual to find a new home inside the beltway for less than $1 million. She says buyers have lots of choices for customizing the houses – including appliances, fixtures, wall colors, and other elements. Backyard decks are optional and would cost about $10,000.

Residents of the nearby Ravenwood Park and Vineland communities had bitterly opposed the development when it was first proposed several years ago. The original plan called for townhouses on the 1.8-acre site.

Neighbors had raised concerns about density, stormwater, and the possibility that the two segments of Peace Valley Lane would be connected, creating a cut-through between Leesburg Pike and their community.

When the Board of Supervisors approved a comprehensive plan amendment to allow the project in May 2012, it reduced the size of the development from 10 to seven houses and agreed that Peace Valley Lane would remain
disconnected.

  1. It should be known that while Ravenwood indeed did oppose the original plan the current development was much less contentious. Evergreen is not the same developer as the original. There are still concerns about runoff onto adjacent properties, but the new development is a reasonable development compared to other Mason district development boondoggles.

  2. Horrible location with difficult/dangerous access to route 7 and situated across from the mosque with its maddening traffic and parking issues.

  3. So that's why they cleared up all that brush from across the street. To give these owners a nice view.
