Police release video of Pham’s car 10 minutes before body was found

Fairfax County Police detectives have released a video of Vanessa Pham’s white Toyota Scion in the Fairfax Plaza Shopping Center at the 2900 block of Gallows Road taken just 10 minutes before her body was found, stabbed to death, in her car in a ditch off Route 50 near the Williams Road intersection at 3:34 p.m.

According to the Washington Post, Pham, a 19-year-old college student, was last seen at the JD Nail Salon sometime after 3 p.m. The video, a compilation of surveillance tapes, shows Pham’s Scion entering the parking lot from southbound Gallows Road, driving by a self-storage business and the Unique thrift store, going back the same way, and exiting onto Gallows Road at 3:24 p.m. The car seems to spend a long time waiting to turn right at that intersection, and there are several other cars nearby. Police urge anyone who saw Pham’s car in the parking lot to call 1-866-411-TIPS/8477.

  1. It really seems like something is going on in the car while it's sitting there missing a bunch of opportunities to turn right onto Gallows.
